One that opens WMP automatically in FF, and the other that does not.

Interestingly, I tried the same thing using Opera using the link I
provided in my posting response. It did the same thing as Firefox,
always showing that screen and not remembering the "always use this"
check box. So it is not a Firefox issue, more likely a "non-MS" browser
issue with wmv files. I suspect there are different format files all with
the wmv suffix.
I am using FF cousin, Mozilla, here. WMP opened and played the file.
Try removing the WMV association in Windows. In XP it is under Control
Panel|FOLDER OPTIONS|FILE TYPES
After this is done, an attempt to load a .WMP should "ask" what application.
Specify the path to WMPlayer, and check the "always use" box. This should
reestablish the WMV association with WMP.
