inside the FF profile you fill find the files signons2.txt
[or signons.txt -- depending on the version you're using]
and key3.db. You need both files. Just copy them and put
them somewhere. When you've set up FF, all you have to do
is put the files back where you found them, in the new
profile. Of course, do all this with the program closed.

why add another extension, then you can do it manually?
Thanks for the tip. Now I can at last staer a complete new profile and kill
off all the problems my old one has acquired over the years...
