I did come across something on the forums somewhere and on this blog post:
http://www.madrasgeek.com/2010/09/install-and-use-chrome-extensions-in-firefox.html

But it seems that this extension has been removed by Mozilla. An email
to the developer has been unanswered. While FF extensions are mature
taking advantage of the extensive API's (to my limited understanding
about the browser), Chromium lacks the same. However, there are certain
Chrome extensions which have been made to work for that platform only.

e.g. I miss the postrank extension (a must have for Google Reader to
filter out the news) but they are refusing to code one for Firefox
presently despite being after their CTO for consideration. If the
corresponding chrome extension be made to work out..... that would be
great.

Any thoughts?

What are these Chrome extensions, and what is so marvellous about them?
