When clicking on a link in an email, or in some FF browser windows, the
new page will appear but the address bar is missing the URL; instead, in
faint gray it says "Go to a Website."

Easy solution: just click in the address bar, which change to all white,
then press Esc. The URL will appear.

The problem in my setup (XP SP3 and FF 14.0.1, but earlier versions of
FF also had the problem)is the extension called "RealPlayer Browser
Record Plugin 15.0.5." FF does identify it as causing stability or
security problems. Simply Disable it (Tools/Add-ons/Extensions) and the
problem will go away.

I have the same problem, but even if I disable all plugins (I don't
have a realplayer plugin) the problem persists. I guess some extension
is causing it, but I haven't tried to nail it down.

When I had that problem, I found that the theme I was using was the
cause. Have you tried the default theme? Also check to see if there is
a theme update.

I only use the default theme.

I switched to the default theme, located some posts here with links,
clicked on 'em and FF opened with the URL in the window. This has come
up previously and I don't remember the fix.

How is that supposed to help if he's experiencing problems posting to

I've always wondered about that as well. sometimes it works fine on
Test, but not the group your trying to post to. I can't see where just
typing Test with nothing else would clog the the server.

Because if there is a problem posting to a single group is not a group
issue but rather a server issue and/or a problem on the user's end.
That's why we have a test group for that purpose. If a post is
successful to .test then it will also be successful to any open group on
the server.

> Hey Guys, My Address Bar on top Says " Go to a website" and I can't type on it. Even the google bar to my upper right corner doesnt work. When i go to an old tab, then go back to the newly opened tab, it goes back to normal, and i can type in it. Is there any fix for this? Mainly because i use my address bar as my search. Just used to it you know?

If you go to Firefox-->Help-->Restart_with_Add-ons_Disabled, does the
problem still occur? If not, the cause is probably an extension. See
<http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems>.

I've heard that the delicious extension has been causing some trouble
with text not appearing in the location bar.
