I have backed up my thunderbird and Firefox profiles on another computer
using MozBackup and the back up files are stored on this computer.

While I do not want to restore the profile to this computer it would be
nice to have parts of that profile such as the information that was in
the calendar.

Does MozBackup allow a partial restore into another profile.?

Yes, it has a series of checkboxes for different parts of your profile,
though I don't know about the calendar specifically.

I looked at mine and no, either the entire profile or none. However, you
can restore the profile to a different location and then pick and choose
what you want.

I just looked at my restore and didn't see anything like that, just a
restore of the entire profile. May be because I chose it that way when
backing up, dunno, I don't use it very often anyways.

The problem was a restore to a non-existent Firefox.

I did a fresh backup and a restore and yes, had a choice what to restore
.. 8-)

Thanks for not making me go through the trouble of doing my own research
to validate my memory. ;)

If you know what files you need:

The backup file of Mozbackup, the *.pcv file is in reality a ZIP file.
Rename it to *.zip and double click ! (at least in Windows).
