Hmm . . . you wouldn't happen to be one of those peculiarly perverted
persons who can't fathom how coffee could be the /real/ water of life, would
you? :-P

/P.S./: Don't get me wrong, I love (good) whisk[e]y as much as anyone, but
I'm far more functional with coffee than without, whilst the consumption of
whisk[e]y has been known (at least from time to time) to impair said

*Harrumph!* -- The 'coffee fiend' is a far rarer creature than the
quasi-mythical (/à la/ /Marihuana/, /Reefer Madness/, &c) 'dope fiend'.

I've spent enough years supporting my local roasterie that even Starbucks'

There are few things in life not in some way involving intimate contact that

I was introduced to Bodums (I didn't encounter the term 'French press' till
a good half-dozen years later) in late '91 and have been using them for most
of my coffee-making needs since early '92 (after a replacement for a kaput
drip coffee-maker itself went kaput in a matter of weeks).

If you've not had Jamaican Blue Mountain, you really should treat yourself.
My local roasterie tends to bring in a 100-lb bag every year shortly
before Christmas and roasts it on-site in small batches, advertising it as
'The Coffee of Kings'.

It's full-bodied, but very clean on the palate; there's a bit of acidity on
the finish, but the aftertaste lingers like that of a good wine or Scotch.

FWIW (Coffee lovers)

I roast green beans in my homemade roaster and brew the coffee in an
Aeropress.

The Aeropress is an improvement over a French Press.

Best off the shelf store bought coffee is Chase & Sanborn.
The strongest coffee. So strong it'll grows Nails on your chest is a
small regional coffee Brand called H&C (was the first letters of the
first name of the brothers that started the company in Roanoke Virgina.
(Harold and Clarence Woods) besides coffee it uses chicory. The
strongest Store brand that is almost as strong as H&C is Luzianne.

'Community'?

Well we were talking about not getting into the website about coffee.
Then kind of morphed into talking about coffee itself The some one
mention about Roasting green beans. And I just commented that we cook
green beans with a little Fatback or salt pork. Of course I knew they
were talking about green coffee beans. I was just trying to lighten the
mood on an Easter Holiday.

That takes me back to the days of my Grandmother. She ran a Boarding
House and Served meals to works of Stanley Furniture.

She made what was called Hoecakes. you made biscuit dough and instead of
spreading it out and cutting out biscuits you cooked it whole. A lady
that worked with my Grandmother would split one half into and split it
the pieces so so could put in Clover Creamery Butter. Talk about being
