Just opened 5 Private Browsing Windows with Firefox 21.0.

[excerpt quote]
Taken as a whole, it’s clear to see that Chrome has been leading the
pack in browser innovation for years.[/quote]

Hogwash! Who started the open browser innovation? Can you say Netscape.

I suppose Chrome didn't employ any of that innovation.

But wait, aren't Firefox users crying that Firefox is becoming a clone
of Chrome?

So which is it? You want your Firefox to be Firefox and not Chrome, or
you want it to be Chrome?

I don't see a cry for support here so x-posting and setting Followup-To:
mozilla.general, before Chris deletes your post.

These posts seem to come at least once or twice every week or so.
Everyone knows there are places where Chrome shines and Firefox could
use some work. IMHO, constantly pointing it out doesn't really do any
good. If you want what Chrome offers, use Chrome. If you want to help
make Firefox better, jump in and do so. How can you do that?

1. Use Firefox and file bug reports when things go wrong.

2. Make suggestions on the development lists and help influence the
future of Firefox.

3. Help new users find the goodness of Firefox that they may have
missed. Also, don't forget to help previous users who may have used
Firefox in 'the bad old days' to educate themselves on how much better
the browser has become.

These are some concrete ways you can help make Firefox better. Pointing
out how far behind Chrome it is really doesn't do anything except push
people away from the browser and towards Chrome. IMHO, there are some
very good reasons to use Firefox over Chrome and, while Firefox isn't as
'glitzy' as Chrome is, it's all that most people actually need.

I'm not trying to be harsh here. But, really, if people are so enamored
by Chrome and there are features they just can't live without, go to
Chrome. Otherwise, help make Firefox better!

I really wish FF would support sliders (HTML5 INPUT TYPE=range). Every
other major browser does, even IE (in v10).

I agree that Chrome is leading, and Firefox is, often, following, but
sometimes the choices are more oriented toward conservation of
resources. Consider that Chrome has Google's MONEY behind it, and
Firefox is open source. I think they do pretty well, considering the
difference in resources. I wish they would stop following, though, and
just go their own way.

Agreed. What's the point of having two almost identical browsers?
As a longtime Firefox user I avoided Chrome for a long time, but recently I
find add-ons on Chrome, that Firefox does not have, but which do what I
need.
If it was not for the fact that Chrome takes ages to open multiple tabs I
would probably have abandoned FF by now.
I long for the times when FF was 'new and different'.
