like simplemail is for mail interface within ff, is there any newsgroups
reader addon for ff giving TB like interface to read newsgroup messages?

NOT RSS/ Atom news, but only newsgroups posts as in mozilla support
newgroups.

Thanks.

Why use an extension when you can go to Google Groups?

If I am not logged in to google, I can't reply to newsgroup messages.

If I am logged in, google tracks and stores history of my activities.

addons are convenient. they work only within ff and do specific things.

Thanks.

Then in your Firefox go to Firefox > Add-ons or Tools > Add-ons if using
the Menu Bar, then select Get Add-ons, or under More ways to customize
select Browse all add-ons and search.

Ewwww! :-/

Better yet, use separate apps for the various protocols. A browser for the
web (Firefox), an email client (Thunderbird), and a real, separate
newsreader (Pan, Xnews, Gravity, Dialog, Knode, slrn, etc etc).

Pick apps that do one thing well, rather than use some kind of all-in-one
that never, or rarely, does anything well. "One size fits all" rarely does.

Hm, why to use Google groups if there is chance to use anything else ?

I use Gravity reader at home and occasionally GG in work. It is a big
pain for regular Usenet client users.

Current way of spaced quoting by GoogleGroups is disaster, if combined
with no quoting by some GG users.

Because he wants to know if there is an extension to read newsgroups in
Firefox, so he doesn't have to open another application.

Gravity reader is an extension for Firefox? Then that may be what Rawat
is looking for.

I wonder why ... well, I do! One double-click and my newsreader is ready
to read.

Microplanet Gravity is a standalone newsreader. I used it over a decade
ago when I was still using Windows. It's pretty good.
http://mpgravity.sourceforge.net/

"Gravity is a usenet news client for reading news over NNTP on Windows
Operating Systems. Gravity has been a popular newsreader since 1996 when
it was developed by MicroPlanet. The newer open source versions are
optimized for the latest 32 and 64 bit Windows Systems including Windows
7."

I do understand the question of OP. I have responded to responder,
who offered GGroups, not to OP, who was asking for FF extension.

No, it is standalone nntp client, I had to explicitly mention that.
It was not offer for OP, just illustratove backgroung
to my opinion about GGroups.

SeaMonkey would still be 2 windows, just like using Firefox, and
Thunderbird.

Rawat wants an all-in-one browser, email, newsreader, RSS feed reader,
office suite, anti virus app, bit torrent client, and who knows what
else application. ;)

ha ha, I would surely had wanted that all if I had been using those all.

I tried simplemail addon in ff, but due to stupid google's problems,
that didn't work out.

now, just want a newsreader so that I can get mozilla updates in ff
itself without having to go check every time in tb. mozilla's two ngs
are the only newsgroups I am subscribed to.

Thanks.
