For some reason starting this morning, I can no longer track a FedEx
package using Firefox (version 42.0) but I can with Internet Explorer.
With Firefox I get the message "Unfortunately we are unable to retrieve
your tracking results at this time. Please try again later." With IE,
it works correctly and shows the status of the package. It's not a
transient problem -- I have tried multiple times over the last hour.

I don't want to provide the real tracking number of my package here, but
the following URL using a dummy tracking number shows the problem:

https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?action=track&tracknumbers=999999999999&locale=en_US&cntry_code=us

Any ideas? Thanks

Oh for goodness sakes. After an hour of it not working in Firefox, it
has suddenly started working.

Have you tried in safe mode or with a new profile?

Before it magically started working again after an hour, during the time
when it wasn't working I did try it in safe mode, and that made no
difference (it still gave that error message). At any rate, using the
same profile I've always had (and I only have one), it didn't work
multiple times over the course of an hour, then suddenly started
working. And during the time it wasn't working in Firefox, it did in
IE. But it's working again now.

FWIW, it worked fine in 43.0b5...

With that link, I do not get any message telling me to try again later.
I get what looks like a normal FedEx page.

Firefox tells me that it was picked up on August 11, 2:40PM in Dorval,
QC, but I'd like to do a better test.

Could you ship me something? I need an L router.

I had the same problem and got it working by restarting with addons disabled.
Which addon is responsible will be PITA to discover.

Thanks. Yes, when it wasn't working, I tried that, and it didn't help.

This reminds me of something that happened over 20 years ago. My nephew,
who now makes a good living setting up large computer systems, was no
more than 20 at the time and was helping me with a problem with my first
computer. In exasperation, I said, it's like my computer is haunted. He
looked at me serious as can be and said ALL computers are haunted.
