Hello,

today a friend said that she will try to install Firefox in her phone,
which has Windows 10. She is not an expert in computers, so my question
is pretty simple, I think: how will she install Firefox in her phone, if
that is possible? And how updates will be dealt with, in the best
possibility?

I did not know there is a Win10 Windows phone.

I beleive the minimum storages is about 32 GB with about 15GB free
storage. At least this is what I have on my HP stream Tablet. ( Atom
1.8 GHz Intel Atom QuadCore processor, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of on board
storage plus 32 GB on a card.)

The tablet came with Windows 8.1 and I upgraded it to Windows 10 when it
came out. I had some problems installing the Aniversary edition but
when complete it worked well. When Creator came out I did not install
it until MS notified me that an upgrade for the system was available.
It went off with out a hitch and I gained 2GB of storage.

So if the phone meets the minimum requirements for the OS, then it
should install with no problems. Depending on the CPU and RAM it may
not be as fast as you desk top with an Intel i7 processor but it will be
functional.

If she has a wireless connection she can download it and install it
wireless. If she is paying by the byte for her phone connection it will
be expensive.

If she installs Windows 10 this is not applicable, as she would download
the standard release channel version of Firefox and Thunderbird.

The Internet connection she most uses is the WIFI in her house, so
download sizes will not be a problem. What could be is the available
storage, at most.

Well, maybe it is my fault to have said it wrong, but... her default
signature in the phone's Outlook was: "Enviado do meu telefone Windows
10", which means "Sent with my Windows 10 phone".

I will ask her which is the model of her phone and do a little research
about it. If there is something that could be useful around here, I make
one answer saying it.

Well, I do receive emails with that signature.

It just didn't register in my brain cells.

Sorry, for my Windows ignorance. I'm an Android phone user and Linux
desktop user.

I fire up the Windows 10 notebook for testing purposes and updating only.

This install is not a couple of minutes, but at least a couple of hours.
So it is not something to start with out knowing you have several
hours to devote to the project.

I usually do it while watching TV in may recliner. I can monitor the
process and provide a couple on inputs as necessary.

But the Windows Mobile OS is not the same as Windows 10 on a mobile
device.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Mobile

Looks like Windows Mobile was discontinued around 2010 and why Mozilla
decided to drop support of their Firefox program on that old OS.

Yes, it is confusing - as typical with Microsoft's naming schemes - that
Windows Mobile is not the same as Windows 10 Mobile.
