when I tried to search any thing using G.Desktop, an "Authentication
Required" window appears asking for user name and password for the
site http://www.cfauth.com.
I really know nothing about this site nor its authentication.
I access the Internet through my university which uses a proxy server,
I authenticate my self and uses the internet very fine to all sites
except the (offline) desktop results!!!!

an "Access denied" page appears then and no results seen
I am using firefox 3 as my default browser
note (when I manually use IE with google toolbar to search desktop it
works)

Is the problem with firefox? Why? it was working few month ago!!!!

Please help me

I have a different problem with GDesktop.

I have a bookmark to

<http://127.0.0.1:4664/search?q=&flags=128&s=mNJB-tYwgkr7kbI4FgpXczXXghQ>

which is the URL of the GD page on my computer, but when I click it, I
get the "Failed to connect" message.

However, if I click "Try Again" in that message, I get Google Desktop.

Why can't I get it on the first try?

Thanks.

www.cfauth.com is not a web site. You shouldnt be seeing it, ask your
IT folks if they are using a Bluecoat security appliance, and if so, why
you are ever seeing that URL.

-------------------------------------------------------------
HOME | BLUECOAT.COM

You have reached cfauth.com

If you were expecting another web site, this may be the result of a
configuration error in your network. The domain www.cfauth.com is the
default "virtual hostname" for authentication on security appliances
from Blue Coat Systems, Inc. Requests in your network for that host
should be intercepted by the appliance. Please seek assistance from your
network administrators.

If you came to www.cfauth.com deliberately, you have now seen the entire
site.

Aww sorry, but in that case, just fill it in from your memory and run
along now, there's a good lad.
