For the 1st time ever, not long after I renewed my subscription for my Norton Internet Security; Everytime I wanted to open up Firefox it would automatically start update process window which I would use task manager to stop it cause my windows xp laptop doesn't have memory to spare.

Today, I cant open it up and instead everytime I get a XULRunner window saying, " Error: Platform version '50.0.2' is not compatible with minVersion >= 50.0.1 maxVersion <= 50.0.1" with a Ok Button. In my control panel it states that I have FireFox 50.0.0. Also, I can't same window when I try to use FireFox Safe Mode. How can I fix this ?

Try this:
a) Move as much data as possible to an external drive to free up space
on your system.
b) Get better virus/malware protection, and install it. Use Internet
Explorer for this, it won't hurt you.
c) Get Revo Uninstaller, it's free, and use it to remove Norton.
d) D/l a fresh copy of Firefox.
e) Do a simple Uninstall of Firefox. Do not use Revo. Simple uninstall
will preserve your profile (bookmarks, etc)
f) Install fresh copy of Firefox.
g) Go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Update, and set FF to ask before
installing Updates, or never to check (you'll have to check manually).

If you get the Platform version error again, that will mean that the
newest Firefox won't work on Windows XP.

Unasked advice: get at least three more antivirus/antimalware programs
and run them every couple of weeks or so.

Move what type of data? After researching, I tried to do a clean reinstall with the FF copy that was already on my pc, but when i copied and pasted my profile files back into my reinstalled FF only recently visited sites. Then when I copied and pasted my profile files from June, it worked. I just don't understand how a interrupted update would mess with my profile since an update I feel shouldn't go near anything that would mess with profile file to function correctly.

Docs, images, etc. The output from your programs. They should be backed
up anyhow.

Good. :-)

If the clean install was done after a simple uninstall, the latest
profile was preserved and reused. Copying the saved profile into the
reinstall therefore won't change anything. As to why the June profile
works, seems to me the latest profile was somehow corrupted. How? Dunno. ;-)
