How to force open a link in the current tab?

OK, middle clicking a link would open it in new tab, or through the
right click menu.

But, it id encoded on the site to open the link on the new tab, but we
have nothing to do on that existing page after clicking on this link, we
might wish to open it in current page itself to avoid us hassles of
closing the current tab, selecting next which would be at the end, so on.

Is there any method of force opening such "_blank" links in the current tab?
