Android Mozilla Firefox 33.0

I can't seem to find the setting that moves the Android Firefox "Downloads"
directory from internal SDcard (internal memory) to the external SDcard?

FROM: /device/storage/sdcard0/Download
TO: /device/storage/exSdCard/download

How do I get Android Firefox to either *ASK* me where to put downloaded
files (best) or to at least put them, by default, on the external SD card?

Firefox 33 is rather old.

I just updated to 41.0.2 (thanks for the reminder).

Thanks for that pointer.

It did not work for me, but, it was a good attempt! :)

Here is a rewrite of those instructions, as "I" did them:

How to set the Firefox downloads folder to be on the external SD card.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1028808
a. Download any image from images.google.com using Firefox as a test case.
(Note: I searched for "duck" and downloaded a picture of a duck.)
b. Confirm with ES File Explorer the image is in /device/storage/sdcard0/Download/
c. With ES File Explorer create a folder /device/storage/exSdCard/download/firefox
d. Start Firefox & type "about:config" in the URL bar.
e. In the search bar, type ".download." & search for browser.download.folderList
f. Change browser.download.folderList=1 to browser.download.folderList=2
1 = always use the android default "Downloads" folder
2 = last used folder
g. Tap the large "+" button to the left of the search box to add a new setting
Name = browser.download.dir (this stores the last used directory)
Type = String
Value = /storage/exSdCard/download/firefox

NOTE: I also tried adding the trailing slash but that didn't work either:
/storage/exSdCard/download/firefox/
h. Click "Create".
i. Test by downloading a new file and noticing it goes to that new location.
(Note: I searched for "cow" and downloaded a picture of a cow.)

Which version of Android? Kit Kat doesn't allow 3rd party software to
store stuff on the external SD card.

Android 4.3, Jellybean.

So, this *should* have worked.
There is no error message whatsoever.

The saved file just goes into the default Android folder.

I'm wondering if there is a different way to type the path
to the external SD card that Firefox needs?

I gave up on getting the Firefox to work and solved the problem
by redirecting the entire Downloads directory instead, which
worked.

Any of these three programs can redirect the default Android
Downloads directory to the external sd card.

1. Automatic File Mover FREE by CM Apps (freeware limited to 3 folder redirects)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=filemover.tst

2.URSafe Media Redirector by Venator Software Media & Video (1 folder redirect)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.venator.app.mediaredirector

3. Photo & File Redirect by Nicola Rosada (freeware limited to 1 folder redirect)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rosadanicolasoft.fotoandfileredirect&hl=en

Here's the procedure that worked for all Downloads (including Firefox):

Change the Android "Downloads" directory:
FROM: /device/storage/sdcard0/Download
TO: /device/storage/exSdCard/download (or to ask where to put it)

Install Photo & File Redirect by Nicola Rosada (freeware allows 1 folder redirect)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rosadanicolasoft.fotoandfileredirect&hl=en

Change the default Download folder:
FROM: /storage/emulated/0/Download/
TO: /storage/exSdCard/download/

Here are the instructions I followed:
a. Download any image from images.google.com using Firefox as the test case.
b. Confirm with ES File Explorer the image is in /device/storage/sdcard0/Download
c. With ES File Explorer create a folder /device/storage/exSdCard/download
d. Start Photo & File Redirect (free is limited to 1 redirection)
e. Click "Manager" on the bottom.
f. Click "New" on the bottom
g. In the "From" field, click "Browse" to /device/storage/sdcard0/Download
h. In the "To" field, click "Browse" to /device/storage/exSdCard/download
i. Click "Apply" on the bottom
j. Test by noticing that all the Downloads were moved to the sdcard1
k. Test by downloading a new file and noticing it also goes to the sdcard1

It's not the original question, but it works.
If you know why the Firefox settings failed, let me know.
thanks.
