In Firefox 11, what is the automatic default cache size?

Is there a recommended maximum cache size?

Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit; 6 GB RAM

Thanks in advance!

Default is 5MB, you can reset it in about:config.

Firefox uses a feature called smart cache size, which means it adjusts
the cache size according to your computer. I'm guessing that on your
system it will top out at 1GB. If you go to
Firefox-->Options-->Advanced-->Network, it should tell you how much disk
space your using.
"Your web content cache is currently using xx of disk space"

If you want to set your own limit, you need to check mark "Override
automatic cache management".

And, if you don't want to engage in letting Firefox auto-decide the
amount of space, then:

Tools => Options => Advanced => Network => Check the box to "override"
and select whatever size you feel is appropriate.

How do you set it to have it erase the cache on exit? I don't see a
setting to do that under Options, Advanced, Network.

Options> Privacy... Under History... "Firefox will: select "Use custom
settings for history" from the dropdown list. Then, st the bottom of
the history section select the checkbox befort "Clear History when
Firefox exits" Then click the settings button and in the resulting
window select all that you want to clear on exit and unselect all that
you want to keep. (Cache is in that list.)
