In Firefox, if I try to copy text from some web pages (e.g., www.aa.com) to
Outlook, it gets pasted as a URL instead of as text. No problem copying it
to Outlook Express. No problems in either Outlook or Outlook Express with
IE. I can copy text from http://www.mozilla.com/support/ in either. What
might be the solution to this? TIA

in Outlook, look under Edit, and select Paste Special [if it has one]

Please try to bottom post in this newsgroup. Thanks

are you composing in 'plain text' format in Outlook?

_Frank_ spoke thusly on 06/09/2006 12:02 PM:

When you copy text "to Outlook", is that in a message composition
window? Task? Event? If you're composing an email message, are you
composing in HTML, Rich Text, or Plain Text?

I'm having the same problem! I just upgraded my Firefox to version
1.5.0.6 this weekend, and now whenever I select text from a web page
and try to paste it in Outlook, it pastes as a web page attachment!
This was never a problem before.

It does this even when the message is in plain text mode.

I cannot select "paste as special" because it is grayed out. (And I
would not want to take this extra step anyway!)

I am using MS Outlook 2000 on a PC with Windows XP.

Because the kind of work I do involves a LOT of cutting and pasting
into emails, this problem is sooooooo annoying that I may have to dump
my newer version of Firefox and go back to the old one.

I don't have this problem when I cut and paste from MS Internet
Explorer, but who wants to use junky IE anyway??

Can anyone help?

I don't have a true solution, but my friends over at DC Web Women just
gave me a quick workaround: just drag the highlighted text into outlook
from firefox.

It's the best fix I could find for now.
