I want to edit words in my Firefox dictionary. Numerous searches
results on the web all say that I only need to edit the persdict.dat
file that should be located at:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles
\<profile name>.
I do not have a persdict.dat file at that location. In fact not
anywhere on my system. It's Win XP Pro SP2. I am using Firefox
2.0.0.4 and the "English (Australian) Dictionary" v0.2
The dictionary is, by the way, installed correctly and underlines
words as I type - it even underlines the words color and neighbor that
we on this side see as being wrong. ;)
Hi Scootros,
You may wish to visit the Australian English dictionary page I maintain.
You should find all the answers you're looking for at
www.dictionary.JustLocal.com.au. If not, feel free to ask.
The version 0.2 you are using uses a fork of my work from four years
ago. May I suggest getting the latest files from my site. I'm the
creator and maintainer of the Australian English dictionary files.
Enjoy.

Hi Kelvin
I'll be right there. Thank you for a quick response.
I've installed the Kelvin Aust Dictionary and after adding an unknown
work - the letter "a" as noted on your web site being a Mozilla
Firefox issue, I see the persdict.dat file is created and then
contains that "word" being my first entry.
Nice work and thank you again.
