I use the following add-ons marked Legacy, and was hoping someone
could tell me which of them would soon have updates permitting them to
be used in FireFox 57:

Colorful Tabs
Download Status Bar
DownThemAll
Enpass Password Manager
FireGestures
Kaspersky Protection
Open Bookmarks in New Tab
Open Link in New Tab
Reload Every
TinyURL Generator

They are not all equally important, of course.

For "Open Bookmarks in New Tab" (assuming it does exactly what it sounds
like): in Fx57 it's a native feature; just set the about:config pref
browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs
to true

It is my understanding that DownThemAll will die with 57. I have
installed Download Star It is a WebExtension, so will work for many
future version. It works different than DownThemAll but after learning
the interface I think it will be equivalent.

There is a list, Firefox-webext-list, continually updated, here:

Sadly, one you haven't mentioned, Tab Mix Plus, does not look like it's
going to be migrated any time soon. The two features I use from TMP
are 1) to open bookmarks in new tabs (covered in 57) and 2) to open into
a new tab a URL typed into the address bar followed by <enter> (as
opposed to the annoying <alt> <enter> ... I haven't heard that that
facility is going to be covered in 57. Anyone know better?

My favorites, which I am hoping will be migrated are:

Web extensions can be used in 56.0 *now*.

You can use the Extension Finder here
<https://mozilla.github.io/extension-finder/>

or peruse the now 9,002 extensions listed as compatible with 57+ here.

<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=&appver=57.0>

I haven't gone through all 451 pages, but I found there are some
inaccuracies in the results.

Hi. ReloadMatic (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/reloadmatic/) was inspired by ReloadEvery, but is compatible with FF 57 and adds some new features too. I think it is a good replacement for ReloadEvery.

(disclaimer: I'm the author of ReloadMatic.)

Using legacy add-ons might disable multi-processor support in Firefox 57?

AFAIK, legacy add-ons might disable the multi-process feature in any Firefox version. FF57 though won't allow legacy add-ons to load at all.

Yesterday in IRC <https://mozilla.logbot.info/firefox/20171105#c13808846> a developer helped me to understand a possible explanation for:

- released versions of Firefox (not 57) sometimes performing _worse with multiprocess windows_ than without.

Also worth noting:

Mozilla bug 1394225 - multiprocess (e10s) automatically enabled at launch after installing extensions that are not compatible with multiprocess

I think the gain is minimum as there are too many critical sections in a
set of web-pages (e.g. cookies) that have to be serialized....

Thank you so much for this list!
I'm going to check my current (deactivated) addons:
- Calomel SSL validation
- Firebug
- Flashblock
- Font information
- MeasureIt
- Pearl Crescent page saver
- Tab Memory Usage
- Tails (I know they're preparing a new compatible release)
- User Agent Overrider
- YourOnlineChoises (this is very useful for behavioural advertising settings)
- YSlow
