Using FF 41.0.2. Trying to print produces the popup message "There was
an unexpected problem while printing." I'm using an HP4300ND with the HP
Universal Printing PCL6 driver. The URL:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/fried-rice-recipe.html

You should be able to Print to file. Then see if you can
print it from there.
I take it you're not having problems printing anything else?

Using FF43.0 under W7-64 I can print the page if I tell NoScript to
temporarily allow all on the page. Upon clicking the print icon a window
shows up with a reformatted recipe and then clicking the 'print recipe'
goes through the regular windows print process. The first time I ran it I
hadn't allowed scripts and clicking on the print icon opened a new tab with
the reformatted recipe and that wouldn't print until I allowed NS to run
scripts. No error messages in any case.

No problems here:

I printed the file as pdf and posted it to Microsoft's OneDrive servers for people to have a look at it.

The technique is to click on this icon:

I had to disable my ad blocker uBlock Origin to get a Print Preview.

I can't print that page to anything. Whether I use C-p, print icon, or
file->print preview, I get the there is a problem popup. I can't even
get far enough to select a different printer.

No, no problems elsewhere.

I found that little icon elsewhere on the page and printing works just
fine. But why can't the original page be printed?

Did you try using the print icon as shown in this picture:

Print-Icon

The arrow is pointing to the middle icon.

That's odd. When I first tried I had the same problem as the OP.
Turned OFF javascript and tried again and got a print preview just fine
as well as a printout.

A good scapegoat is almost as good as a solution.

Thanks for all the replies above. One of you pointed out a print icon on
the page and that works.

I tried printing the page with the same printer using IE 11 and that
works. Given that information the usual conclusion is 1) the page is
using some obscure out-of-spec feature that IE supports or (non
exclusive) 2) FF has a bug.

I tried the PS interface to the HP4300ND, i.e. a different personality
of the same printer and that did not work in FF; neither did the Cute
PDF pseudo printer. So I'm pretty sure the error occurs before
printer-specific software is reached.

For the record: Win 7 Pro 64bit SP1.
