I have returned to Firefox on Windows 10. However I notice during a
short browsing session , say 45 minutes Firefox remembers some of the
pages I have visited on various sites when I click on the back button.
So far I've had a maximum of 7.

I am on a slow ADSL connection and although I value having the back
button for say three pages or so I don't want a huge list available to me..

Incidentally I use Windows rather than tabs with Firefox if this makes a
difference.

Can someone advise me if I am missing something in the options to limit
the number ?
Thanks.

Michael

It's not a preference that is available in the user-interface, but there
is a way to set it.

1. In the location bar, type "about:config" (without the quotes) and
press <Enter>.
2. Click [Accept the Risk and Continue]
3. Search for the preference:
browser.sessionstore.max_serialize_back
4. Double-click on the preference and set the number to whatever you wish.

If you ever want to reset it, there is a reset button to the far-right.
