All I can tell you is: No such problem here. So I don't think Firefox is
to blame.

Are you using a JavaScript blocker?
FF 3.6.6
Win7 x64
Google will not search (or display the results of a new search) unless
you hit the "Reload" button. No problems with any other search
engine.
And I have tried the solution to delete the search file in %APPDATA%
\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
The usual process. Clear cache, use 'safe mode', make a new profile.
Did you try your search in another browser.
The picture, http://i45.tinypic.com/1zeno2.jpg, you included was for a different search that worked.
So I guess the search you used based on picture would have
generated for the original search for vermacelli
(1) http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=vermacelli&aq=f&aql=&oq&gs_rfai=&fp=dd2d1939af06a5a
Although that works for me, if I used the search box, which it appears you might not have
because the search box in your picture is empty, I would have generated
(2) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vermacelli&btnG=Google%20Search&sourceid=Mozilla-search
Which works, shows the corrected spelling. Same for if I used keyword for search
(3) http://www.google.com/search?q=vermacelli++++-hth+-vbulletin+-inurl%3Aforum+-training.available+-shop.now
For keyword.URL in about:config, I have
http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
what do you have?
I don't know where you are getting what looks like a partnership search from, even
though it does work for me. You just might be hitting a bad Google server, if that was the case
you'd probably be okay today. Also check http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
See if (2) and (3) work for you, don't forget to tell us what you have for keyword.URL
Same here.
