29.1 on OS X 10.6.8. Won't load or does so very slowly with virtually
no functionality afterward (e. g., try to change your zip code and it
never takes). I've done the requisite checks (safe mode, all addons
disabled, various chants and incantations, the whole nine yards) with no
effect.

I did try downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it said that www.allstate.com
was down but that allstate.com (without the www.) wasn't. Neither,
however, actually works, at least for me. If you Windows and Linux
users are seeing the same symptoms I can get out the checkbook and
stamps (got a premium payment coming due) and call my agent (planning on
adding a new car soon) but I'd rather do both, especially the latter,
online. And yes, I know, I COULD try it in Safari, but since I'm stuck
at Snow Leopard my version isn't up to date and I'm not comfortable with
that.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your assistance. It'll be a bit before I
can try any suggestions. Got a hard day's work between me and that, but
thanks again.

I'm having no trouble at my site. The page is indeed loading quite slow,
but that may be a webserver under heavy load or so. Nothing you can
really change I guess.

Best regards

No problems here with Firefox 29.0.on openSUSE Linux. Maybe you should
try that version.

Wow. I can't recall if I have ever seen a web page with that much
JavaScript used. I mean in size. Bytes.

Using the Web Developer toolbar, and asking to View JavaScript, I find
*40,002* lines of it, for *1,365,405* bytes! That is outrageous.

There is browser sniffing going on in there, too. Brands and versions.

[snip]

When I tried it, the page came up quickly with the message "Site Update
In Progress".
