Hi,
does anybody know why my Tab Mix Plus settings are gone after Firefox
restart? I set that I want the close button on each tab but after the
restart of Firefox it is gone. And I have only the close button on the
right side. bad.

If you are running the Tab Mix Plus author's development build
for FF 3.5, you need to ensure that the TMP option under Display
| Tab is set to display the close button "On All" tabs.

If you made that change and restarted FF and the close button is
still not on every tab..... I'm stumped.

If you are not running the author's development build, then
obtain it below.

Hi,
now it works. Thanks for the link. I had only the old stable version
which I made compatible with mr tech toolkit. Thanks.

Get developer version of TMP 6.7.4

Don't find that version anywhere. The last is the one previously
mentioned by Alan, 0.3.7.4pre.090516.

Incidentally, cannot force the new tab button to change from right
side to after last tab. (And have reset a few time attempting to fix
it, but no go. Using default theme.)

Neither can I... but I don't use it. I prefer to have the new
tab button next to the Home button on the Navigation Toolbar.

Interesting that I don't have a home button on the navigation toolbar
and it's not even included in the list of available buttons in 3.5.
(of course, I don't believe I've ever had use for a home button,
perhaps I should!)

View | Toolbars | Customize
Drag the Home button wherever you want it. By definition,
clicking on the Home button takes you to your home page.

I use the Toolbar Buttons add-on in FF. It provides a whole slew
of different buttons you can drag to your toolbars.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2377

P.S. The same add-on is used for Thunderbird & Sunbird.

Found it, an icon of a house (which must be a home!). However, I
still consider it a waste of space and prefer a longer address field,
so dragged it back to the unused list.

Who says you have to place the button on the navigation toolbar.
Drag it to the menu toolbar. My point is... there are a variety
of buttons available that provide quick shortcuts to many FF
commands and options. I have a button for every one of them that
I use often. It's easier than learning keyboard shortcuts.
But then again.. this is what I like about FF. The ability to
customize it to your own tastes.

Can't believe you wouldn't have a "home" button, sometimes I just
use a keyword shortcut , after Ctrl+L, even though I do have a home button.
Name: home: home page(s) in firefox
Location: javascript:window.home();
Keyword: home:

More information in "Firefox Keyword Shortcuts"
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/firefox/kws.htm
A file with most of my keyboard shortcuts can be viewed, or imported
with the major folders K, Site then moved to the personal toolbar
and the dates removed.
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/firefox/lessons/intro/k.html

Just for continuity the keyboard shortcut for "Home" is Alt+Home
The Home key alone takes you to top of the page.

I don't have a 'home' button either. My homepage is Google, and I have
a Google button (no search box). Only two toolbars, the bookmarks bar,
and everything else is on the menu bar. I have the navigation buttons on
the right, which my pointer is usually positioned for scrolling. Saves
much 'mouseing'.
LOVE the customizable interface of FF. VASTLY better than any other
browser I have seen.

I do have a home page which is ATT/Yahoo where I can check spam msgs
to ascertain if any should be moved to the inbox -- which occasionally
happens. Usually leave this tab open for the duration, but if need
re-access later in a session, it's in the bookmarks toolbar.

So guess if ever more space is needed in the bookmarks toolbar, could
delete it from there and add the button to location bar -- or develop
a key word.

Oh, that change was reverted a long time ago
Bug 422420 - Revert home button move and related migration code
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422420

I don't know if I'd done anything to counter it until then, but you
shouldn't have home button on tabs bar by default. In any case you
can move it to any toolbar including bookmarks toolbar. Guess some
people got caught in the middle.
