After years without problems playing CNN videos at CNN.com, now I'm getting
this "Undefined" error screen. It says "info: this browser does not allow
you to watch this video". It suggests I update the browser or try a
different one.

I upgraded to v51.0.1 (from v46) but the problem remains.

Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this issue...I tried looking on
the CNN website for a way to contact them, but they hide that section (ie
telephone number or email address) really well.

Thanks for any ideas... John

I tested several videos here <http://www.cnn.com/videos> using
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:51.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/51.0 Version 51.0.1 and did not see that message.

You didn't state what version of Windows you use, or provide a link to a
video where you see that message.

Not seeing this here. Can you try in Safe Mode?

I had that too.
Two issues at stake:
One - you may need to subscribe and possibly pay a small fee (I did it for Fox News)
Two - Firefox is screwed up big way,it keeps crashing as soon as I open a video. I am not messing up with it, I copy-paste my video into Chrome and watch it beautifully.
My attitude is: After months of trying to communicate with Firefox without result, I let it be. There are other options on the Net and if they treat me with contempt, they will get the same response...their loss!

There are a bunch of startup crashes with Firefox and most of them are
due to plugins or add-ons. Have you tried Safe Mode?

Does the Mozilla Crash Reporter come up? If so,
1. Open Firefox.
2. Click the menu button, then click the Help icon [?] at the bottom of
the menu, and select Troubleshooting Information. That should open a new
tab with info about your Firefox setup.
3. Under "Crash Reports for the Last 3 Days" click on your latest crash
report. That should take you to a web page starting with
"https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/"
4. Open a reply to this post and paste the address of your latest crash
report.
We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better
idea of what is causing the problem.

Certainly not an intrinsic FF problem. CNN videos play fine for me with
52.0b7 (32-bit) under W10-64 just as soon as I tell NoScript several times
to let them through.

FF51.0.1/32-bit linux. Here's what I get: " undefined. Info: This
browser does not allow you to watch this video. Try to update your
browser or use a different browser."

The good news is that -- at least for today -- the facebook videos seem
to be playing again. Maybe complaining DOES do some good.

There is no separate link for the video. You just get what you [don't[
get. The one I tried to look at involved Pence and Flynn.

No problems here in 45.0.2.  I am watching the International Edition of Clinton Network News (aka CNN).  Could it be something to do with US editions?

Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0, also version 51.0.1.

Do you use NoScript? Videos would not play here until I selected
"Allow all this page."
Also, using the "HTML5 Video Everywhere!" add-on seems to help.

Are you using Windows 10? Upgrade your Flash Player to latest version 25
manually!

Apologies for not replying sooner, a very painful neck problem took over my
priorities.

I'm using Windows XP, Firefox 51, Opera 36, Palemoon 26.2.1(Atom/WinXP). I
just upgraded Shockwave Flash from the prev version to the latest
(24,0,0,221...confirmed on all three browsers(using the Adobe website and
also "what version is it" website), although in the Firefox plugins
window/page it's still showing a previous version). I've restarted Firefox
51 in safe mode and confirmed that all extensions/addons are disabled. I've
tried unchecking "hardware acceleration" but that didn't help.

The problem continues on all three browsers. And I'm also seeing this same
problem on my upstairs WinXP computer.
