I seem to be having a problem today with the Ghostery extension to
Firefox. On 2 separate Win 10 machines Firefox 65.0.2 (x64) closes after
a few seconds when Ghostery is enabled but runs perfectly happily
without it, or with it disabled. It was OK yesterday. Just me or are
others seeing this?

Thanks. No, I don't think it is that, problem occurs with only Ghostery
enabled. I'll try and live without it!

Ha! I put Ghostery back on to check your theory, got problems, and sent
my previous post. Looking further at all this after I posted, I see that
my system is reporting version 8.4.140; I think that the later version
may be significant.

Sorry. Some days I should just switch off my PC! No, I don't have 8.4, I
have the same version as you: 8.3.1

Thanks. As you may have guessed, there are a couple of posts of mine in
the Avast thread. But I don't think that anything that I have seen
explains what changed but Ghostery is running perfectly happily here now.

Thanks for your help. Those variables are (at least now) set to their
defaults.
I don't think that anything that I have seen on various other threads
explains what changed but Ghostery is running perfectly happily here
now. I'm putting it down as one of those amusing little episodes that
are such a joy when using computers!
