Hi,

In the search engine widget. It defaults to firefox google.

I want just plain old google with no fifefox google as the starting
page. Just google.com.

When I go to the search engine selection on the web it seems like they
have everything but plain old google.

There was a google-en that seemed to be OK but I can not find it.

Help appreciated.

is a generic Google search page, with the Search Assistant turned off.
(The Search Assistant causes the drop-down box to appear with suggested
search terms.)

In Firefox "Options -> "General" -> "When Firefox starts" choose "Show
my homepage" and in "Home Page" type http://www.google.com/
Is that what you wanted as starting page?

look at scroogle.org - no long term search history, no privacy
violations, no tracking.

Have you tried Google Chrome (just, ahem, Google that to
find out how to download it)?

Default to "Edit -> Preferences -> Home Page:" with
"http://www.google.com/ncr" for goole.com and "no country redirect" if
you do not want to refer to any country defaults set up in your system.

Make http://www.google.com/ncr your home page.
That removes some of the flimflam.
Dont forget the /ncr .
