Every time I want to go to another website, it pops up "do you want to leave page" and you have to click ok to leave.
Also, When I close tabs, it says "you are closing x amount of tabs, are you sure you want to do this?
I am pretty sure this is a setting that I never changed when I got windows 8. I googled it but couldn't find an answer. Can you help?
Thanks.

You are closing x amount of tabs was added to Firefox because one user
accidentally closed tabs they wanted, and I guess they couldn't find or
look for the "Undo closed tab" context menu item.

Easily disabled by a toggle of "browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs" to
False in about:config.

Need a URL to see what your other issue is. I don't have that happen
when I go to another website.

As said in the previous post the closing tab warning is a change in the
options.

The "other do you want to leave this page" seems to be related to the
website, and not a Firefox problem. I frequently find this in sites I
have accidentally ended up on. It appears to be a form of "High pressure
salesmanship" The higher the pressure (Interpret worthless) the
advertisement the more difficult it is to leave their page.

I have windows 8 and there is no about:config. I went to system settings and I didn't see anyway to change the browser tabs. Any ideas?

Enter "about:config" (without the quotes) into the address bar and click
past the warning if necessary. Into the search box which appears at
the top, enter "browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs" (without the
quotes). Then double-click the pref to toggle it.

This only disables the warning that shows up when you close tabs using
a tab's context (right-click) menu. There are other warnings about
closing multiple tabs, but this is the only one that's difficult to
turn off, so it's probably the one you were asking about.

As others have noted, that's being done by some JavaScript. To make it
stop, the JavaScript has to be blocked (or at least prevented from
running). Here's one way, which will only work on that particular
site.

Install the Adblock Plus extension,
<https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/>.

In the extension's 'Filter Preferences' dialog, add a custom filter to
block this:
