I don't know what I did, but my Firefox home page no longer displays the
"Firefox Start" text or the Firefox logo. Everything else works fine and
the missing header line is perfectly viewable in Internet Express.

What on earth did I do?

Tools -> Options

Thanks, but it must be something else. Mouseover at the place where the
title and logo are supposed to be bring up boxes indicating "Firefox Start"
and "Firefox Logo" but that's all. What's the significance of being able to
view this homepage normally in Internet Express?

Its something in your image permission, as that is all an image:

Tools>>Options>>Content

Make sure that Load images automatically is checked, and see what may be
in your exceptions list.

Load Images Automatically was already checked, nothing in the exceptions
list. Unchecking and re-checking didn't change anything. With it unchecked
and Mozilla and Firefox in the exceptions list, still no changes.

There's got to be some significance to the fact that Internet Explorer can
display the title line and logo perfectly while Firefox can't.

Frustrating, but not critically important, since the Google search function
on the homepage works well.

Well, something must be wrong in your settings, since the page displays
without issue from here. Its not that Firefox cannot display the image,
its that Firefox as set up on your machine is not displaying the image.

Internet Explorer cannot view the default Firefox page that is already
coded in Firefox, so you must be talking about another page. Please post
the URL to the page you're speaking of.

I'm using Adblock Plus but there's nothing in the list which in any way
includes Mozilla or Firefox, and when I disable Adblock Plus and restart
there's no change to the homepage.

The value was already set to "1"

(3) http://www.google.com/firefox

URLs (1) and (3) produce the same page if opened in Internet Explorer,
directly from Internet Explorer, or using the "IE View" from Firefox, i.e.,
Title line and Firefox logo clearly displayed.

URLs (1) and (3) Never display the Title line and Firefox logo when using
either as the Firefox homepage.

URL (2) is presented as my default homepage from Tools -> Options -> Main ->
Restore to Default, BUT it is always translated or converted to URL (1)
whenever I attempt to use it.

I hope this is what you asked for.

You're exactly right. There is a tiny 1x186 pixel image and I did miss it.

Nothing resulted in the restoration of the Title Line and Firefox logo.
Cleared the cache over and over again. Disabled Adblock Plus. Closed and
restarted Firefox. Opened Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode); same thing: no
"Firefox Start" and no Firefox logo. Page is displayed correctly in IE, no
matter how I access it.

I'm ready to give up and I don't want to waste any more of your time, or
anybody else's, on such a trivial matter. Thanks for sticking with me.
