One of the things I love about Firefox is that I don't always have to
type the "www." or the ".com" when I go to a website. I can just type
"google" or "ebay" and it will go to "www.google.com" and
"www.ebay.com". Well for some reason, this feature has stopped
working. If I type "google" in the address bar, it literally goes to
"google" and says "server not found". I looked through all of the
settings in the options and cant find this anywhere. Does anyone know
what this is?

THANKS

I have mine set up to specifically fail, so that a single word would not
be in conflict with a mistyped keyword shortcut or be whisked off
to a Google search for the word. . In addition Fx3 also has tags.

If the following does not help you, tell us what version of Firefox
you are using and any additional information that might be pertinent.

type about:config on the location bar then filter on fixup
If you have browser.fixup.alternate.enabled set to True
you should be generating the "www." prefix and ".com" suffix.
based on values for
browser.fixup.alternate.prefix default string www.
browser.fixup.alternate.suffix default string .com

Search Mozilla and other Firefox Searches

http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config_entries

I would use Ctrl+Enter to make google open at http://www.google.com
see your keyboard shortcuts in HELP for .net (Shift+Enter) and .org (Ctrl+Shift+Enter)
