lengthening wait time

Some web site do respond slow.If that happens this is what i get.
The connection has timed out
"
The server at www.xxx.com is taking too long to respond.


* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try
again in a few moments."


Is there anyway to tweak Firefox for few more minutes ?

Using about:config in the location bar & limit your filter to 'timeout'.
You should see a key of 'network.http.connect.timeout'. Set this to a
suitable value - I found 80 to be a good compromise (original value was,
IIRC, 30 & with that I got timeouts all the time)

FWIW, I use FF 1.0.8 under Win XP SP2

Thanks Guys.

Bob, I had to create user.js (not created by default)first and then go
thru your steps.

Mine is ver 1.5.0.2 in Win 2K sp4
