If you open a PDF and Adobe Reader opens inside Firefox - does the PDF
file go into the same cache folder as other files?

I know you can find the folder in about:cache.

thanks

An easy way is using the CacheViewer Addon.

Then: Tools, Files in Cache, type "pdf" into the search field.
Voila: all PDF files are listed. Double click the right one. Ready.

Use Ctrl+J to look at downloads, right click on file to find the
complete url or visit the directory.

You should be able to fine the directories in your about:config
and therefor your settings.
