Update V43.0 disables Kaspersky plugins

The update to version 43 Firefox (from v42) came through but on restart
it stated there was a problem with some add-ons which turned out to be
Kaspersky Protect and Kaspersky Password Manager, both part of Kaspersky
Total Security, 2016. The message stated they couldn't be verified and
had been disabled. There was no option to re-enable.

Interestingly, I had a look at the settings for Kaspersky Manager and
the browser option had been disabled (presumably by Firefox) but there
was an option to enable which I did. When I restarted Firefox, the
Kaspersky Password Manager had been re-enabled but also Kaspersky
Protect but they still displayed the error message in red that they
couldn't be verified and had been disabled, but as I have said they were
now both working and additionally there was a disable button displayed
in both the add-ons.

I have obviously raised the issue with Kaspersky - they say they are in
discussions with Firefox but I find it surprising that Firefox doesn't
verify these add-ons, after all it did before but also the fact that I
could re-enable them via the Kaspersky app but not Firefox.

Firefox 43 requires all extensions to be signed. See

Yep and it disabled LastPass too.
It can be over ridden with an About:config change.

Maybe you have installed LastPass from some other source than addons.mozilla.org? Try to reinstall it from there. ;)

The developer of Last Pass indicates in another forum that uninstalling
and reinstalling from AMO solves the problem, and "I'm still trying
furiously to reproduce, mostly by installing old versions of Firefox and
LastPass, and upgrading both. No luck yet."

The LastPass people say simply reinstalling will fix it, without having
to turn off the protection. LastPass is signed, and they haven't yet
figured out what caused it to fail verification for a lot of people.

Why does anyone need an add-on from an antivirus actually installed in a
browser? Scanning the download directory after every download, plus
general scanning of the whole system frequently should be sufficient, right?
