In Edit > Calendar Properties, the Location shows as
"moz-storage-calendar://". AFAIK, everything is stored in the usual
place in the profile: calendar-data.
What is the location?

Its a pseudo-uri that means that the internal storage calendar should be
used. All of these calendars are stored in calendar-data/local.sqlite
and referenced by the calendar id (which is not shown in the UI).

Can I safely delete the default calendar 'Home' with the aforementioned location or is it required for the add-on to function correctly?

As long as you are subscribe to some other calendar and you don't have
any events in the Home calendar, you can delete it. If the menu item
allows to delete the calendar then you can do so.
