If so, it seems to me that this is less than ideal, and that other
CalDAV clients, for example iCal 3.0, are able to coordinate meetings
entirely through the CalDAV server.
One example of how this model can fail is that Thunderbird allows you
to create a meeting with attendees identified by their local account
names (i.e., email addresses) but then gives you the option not to
notify attendees when you Save and Close. It's all to easy for a user
to think that a notification isn't necessary, resulting in the meeting
never appearing in the other attendees' calendars.
I'm currently testing TB 2.0.0.18 against Zimbra server 5.0.12, by the
way. Does anyone know if Sunbird operates in the same manner?
Thanks!

Based on https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:QA_CalDAV_Support I think
I'm looking for a check mark under "Sched" for calendar client 0.9--
but there aren't any.
So I'm guessing that at this point in time, Lightning/Sunbird only
support Free/Busy, not other elements of CalDAV scheduling. However I
will be testing with another CalDav server (Communigate Pro); perhaps
I'll have better luck there.
There exists some basic support for CalDAV scheduling. It is
disabled by default in Lightning 0.9 because it is not complete and
might contain errors. To test it open "Tools > Options > Advanced >
Config Editor...". Search for "calendar.caldav.sched.enabled" and
double click the entry to set it to true.
Thanks, Stefan. I'll give it a try when I get a chance. I came across
some discussion of this in what I believe was a developer's blog,
implying they were hoping to include it in 0.9. Do you have any idea
what the prospects are for inclusion in the next version of Lightning
and/or T-bird--and what the schedule is for those releases?
