Using TB 14.0 and Lightning 1.6

Over the last few years I have accumulated many old events in my local
calendar. Is there an easy way to delete those old events?

The first thing that comes to mind is selecting all events in the events
list, sorting by date, then removing all old ones. There is no other
automated way I know of.

Be careful when deleting events this way as there is no backup. Make
sure the events you have selected are really the ones you want to delete.

, particularly if they are recurring events. When you delete the
"source" all future instances are deleted as well! In those cases
you'd better *change* the event (the starting date) instead of
deleting it. Or make a new copy and then delete the old one.

Your own Trashcan extension might be helpful in this case because it
allows to keep the deleted events for some time in the special Trashcan
calendar until final removal ;)

Thank you all for the tips and warnings. Obviously it is not as simple
as in the olden days of Outlook 2000.
