All of a sudden syncing with google calendar has stopped.

I'm working on a windows 10 computer with thunderbord 68.50 (32 bits for some reason) with lightnign.

I have tried:

- the fix described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/calendar-updates-issues-thunderbird

(Lightning disappears after a Thunderbird update (release and beta versions) - even though Lightning did not disappear, but the data did).

- reinstalling lightning 68.2.2-tb.xpi

- unsubscribing from calendar/resubscribing

Any suggestions?

I think the problem is that the extension Provider for Google Calendar.

Hope this gets updated soon. In the meantime I will be using the Opne Google Calendar extension instead.

Try using CadDAV, that I have been using for years.

I'm not saying CalDAV is perfect. Every method has its pros and cons. But
think of it as an alternative.

Good luck

I just let things happen - I'm at thunderbird 68.5.0, lightning 68.5.0,
provider 68.2.1 and everything appears to be working. I am on 64 bit
thunderbird.

I understand that the TBSync extension works to synchronize calendar
information and more from the cloud with Thunderbird.

I use Google CalDAV myself.

- No Luck with CalDav:
1. I did manage to make a calendar (I think), as explained here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1261974#answer-1230255

My calendar ID is: https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/janb...@gmail.com/events

2. However, How can I get the calendar to show, using Lightning?

- I tried tbsync and the provider for CalDav, but was not able to define the 'service endpoints' correctly (a new word for me). I used my Calendar ID, but this didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Interesting: My problem only occurs with Thunderbird PORTABLE edition, not with the regular Thunderbird 68.50. Everything works fine when I use that.

My Thunderbird 68.6.0/Windows 10 fresh install will not sync Google Calendars. There's no data of any kind being displayed from them. I have no add-ons installed other than the Lightning Extension that came bundled. I have not modified any parts of the UI except to switch to the bundled theme "Light". I've tried switching theme back to default and also manually done "Synchronize Calendars" several times without getting any data.

You have a network Google CalDAV calendar setup in Thunderbird and are
not using the Provider for Google Calendar extension?

How many do you have?

I installed Thunderbird/Lightning on a new computer and the Lightning calendar (synced with Google calendar) is now write-protected.
I cannot resolve this problem and am now using the original Google calendar.

Using the Provider for Google Calendar extension or a Google CalDAV setup?

I use a combination of both in my Thunderbird 68.6.0.

My main Google calendar found under "My calendars" on the web and in
Thunderbird/Lightning is not read-only using CalDAV.

The one sports team I am subscribed to under "Other calendars" is
read-only in both places. I'm using the extension to access it in
Thunderbird.

So is this your main calendar that is read-only or another calendar?

Do you mean web calendar by "am now using the original Google calendar"?

Are you using the Provider for Google Calendar extension?

AIUI that is no longer being updated or supported.

There is <https://github.com/kewisch/gdata-provider/> with a FAQ section
here <https://github.com/kewisch/gdata-provider/wiki/FAQ> and a support
forum here
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/provider-for-google-calendar>

I couldn't code to save your life so don't expect me to fix anything.:)
Why didn't he Make America Great Again in the first term?

I've not seen this. While I haven't seen a lot of release activity from the
author, the version I have (Provider 68.2.1 released Nov 5, 2019) seems to work
OK with Lightning 68.9.0 for me.
