I use kubuntu intrepid ibex unix distro. I installed lightning 0.9
with my thunderbird. It installs but I cannot do anything as I cannot
set the timezone in the settings. The drop down list with all the
timezones is empty. How do I fix this setting? I must mention that
this issue does not crop up if I use lightining 0.8 from the
repositories (repositories do not have lightning 0.9 yet).

Might be caused by missing packages. Did you install libstdc++5
before installing lightning? If not: install libstdc++5 from the
kubuntu repositories and reinstall lightning from mozilla.org.
