notify attendees not working

hey there
i got a problem here with thunderbird & lightning
thunderbird 3.0b2 & lightning 1.0 pre
the calendar files are on the network drive
one client is in the same LAN - there everything is working
the second one connects via VPN - showing calendar entries is working
creating new entries is working but the box "notofy attendees" is not
available if he wants to do so
in a calender which is located on the network drive where he conntes
via VPN
strange thing - the rest is working just this option is not....
would be great if anybody could help me

sorry - found it myself...
there was no mail adress specified in his calendar properties....
