I have a mac osx lion. And thunderbird with lightning calendar.
I bought the left panel - mini calendar and calendar list - using the
mouse for smaller one. But I cannot restore it now.
The panel is lost :(

You can help how I may restore it?

In Ubuntu you'll find it here

View -> Calendar -> [x] Calendar list

I am having this issue with the minicalendar and with the list of
calendars. Neither appears when I click on the options. I've tried
creating a new profile and reinstalling lightning/Provider but the
same issue persists. Any clues?

Well, I got frustrated with no online solutions and just scrapped the
entire Profile and started with a new Profile. Unfortunate as I have 8
calendars that need to be added so this wasted like 15 minutes of copy-
pasting. Now minical and list of calendars show up as expected I'm
backing up this profile BEFORE I make any changes now...

I found the solution!!

The problem is in a profile file. On the mac it's found in ~/library/thunderbird/profiles.
Don't delete the folder! It contains all your settings and stuff.
But you can delete one file: localstore.rdf
Quit thunderbird, delete the file, and restart. It will be re-created.

Another workaround that doesn't destroy your saved window positions and
sizes:

Open the error console and enter this:

top.opener.document.getElementById("ltnSidebar").removeAttribute("collapsed");
