If you don't have any other mod_perl directives, you can put
them anywhere. Otherwise they should be before the other mod_perl
directives, but after the LoadModule directive that loads mod_perl.
Of course, you also have to actually have mod_perl installed,
and the paths above have to actually be right.

As long as they are anywhere after the LoadModule directive for
mod_perl, you're fine.

This doesn't seem to be a standartd configuration file, maybe you
should try with one of those at least until you solved your problems?

Hi!
It is a configuration file for apache2 in Ubuntu 7.04 Server version
which I have installed on my server. What should I do then, replace
it with some kind of different one or what? I think replacing it
would get me into loads of more trouble?

That means you haven't loaded mod_perl. Maybe it's not
installed correctly.

I now have loaded mod_perl. But I can't configure out still how to
put those lines so that they work. If I put them at the end of
apache2.conf file plainly like that:
PerlSwitches -I/var/www/html/bugzilla -w -T
PerlConfigRequire /var/www/html/bugzilla/mod_perl.pl
apache -t says:

I also had to do apt-get install apache2-mpm-prefork but I still get
error. Now it is:

Syntax error on line 670 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf is very weird
as it looks like that PerlConfigRequire /var/www/bugzilla/mod_perl.pl
and I don't see any problems wit that.
mod_perl.pl 70th line is $server->add_config([split("\n", $conf)]);,
what's wrong with that???

Those don't go inside a <Directory> block. They just go on
their own.

This is a version mismatch between apache2 and mod_perl. See
http://wiki.mozilla.org/Bugzilla:FAQ:Software_Matrix#Apache
You likely have version 2.2 or higher of Apache2, and version 2.0.2 or
older of mod_perl. ExecCGI is broken in mod_perl 2.0.2 with Apache 2.2,
you need mod_perl 2.0.3 or newer to use it.
