First of all, pardon for the subject line :) Cannot think of something more
creative yet straight to the point.

Let me just share with you what has transpired during the last Leadership
Meeting of the Mozilla Philippines Community, spearheaded by our Community
Manager Eusebio "Jun" Barrun, Jr. some two (02) weeks ago.

Aside from planning the upcoming events locally (here in the PHL), Jun and
I (being Mentors) asked for the renewed commitments of all 12 Mozilla Reps
to the ReMo Program. We may all be busy at times, but we will not let any
of our team members to be considered "dead" in the program.

Each were asked to submit their (renewed) Commitment to the ReMo Program
(most of us became Reps more than a year ago; each were reminded of the
agreement we signed when we were accepted to the ReMo Program) with the
following instructions:

*"Think of this as your 'personal vow' to the ReMo Program this year. Be
reminded of our commitment to the ReMo Program when we were accepted. Let
us renew that commitment once and for all. Be concrete and precise with
your commitment."*

Now, being Mentors: when was the last time you checked with your Mentees?
When was the last time you said "Hi!" to your Mentees via email, social
media, and the like? Is he/she still alive or dead (in the ReMo Program)?
Are you a good example to your Mentees (e.g. do you submit your Monthly
Reports, requests on time)?

Your thoughts please ...

Best regards,

Thanks for bringing this up Bob!

Keeping in social touch with your mentees is indeed a really important
part of your mentor's role. Please make sure to follow up and
regularly touch base informally with them.
Your mentees need to feel that you are always available to them, and
reaching out to them will reinforce this feeling :)

A simple email checking up and renewing their commitment (even if not
expressed explicitly) will be key moving forward for the success of
the program,
Keep rocking mentors!
