After months of planning and building, we’re now in beta! To
celebrate, I’m moving the weekly updates to Wednesdays (I know, not
really a celebratory act, but trust me, it’s a good thing).
Launch plans
- Join Mozilla is live in beta! (www.mozilla.org/join)
- Read Mark Surman’s post on the launch (http://

- Thank you to everyone who helped us get to launch.
- So far response has been positive, with lots of interest from
community members in helping to build the program.
Build
- All QA and security blockers were resolved late last week
- There are a few additional bugs that were not able to be resolved
for launch. We are working through those bugs now to triage for full
launch.
L10n
- Beta launched in English and German
- A few minor issues where site shows mixed English/German in German-
speaking countries outside of Germany
- Working towards full launch with 7 languages (Spanish, Portuguese,
Québécois French, Italian, and Czech) – these are the languages
currently available through our technology provider. Longer term, we
will develop a solution that allows anyone who wants to l10n to help
us build the program in their language
- Will be working with l10n community to see if Québécois French will
work with other locales
Marketing
- Beta is being promoted via a promo on the Mozilla.org/about page,
regular blog posts, and social media posts from those who Join
Mozilla.
