Hi,

I wonder if i post in the right place, and also wonder if i titled it
right with "podcast".

Before i join Mozilla Community, i usually go to different "talks &
sharing", but most of them are related to IT, internet, social media,
design, etc. And when i start join the Mozilla Community, i struggle
to learn how to presenting mozilla in right words/ways. I start
reading from many blogs related to mozilla. Yes i can tell people what
is mozilla, but i think i should learn from other people that already
expert and have tons of experiences in sharing knowledge about
mozilla, open web, etc. And i found what i want when i came to mozcamp
at Kuala Lumpur, november 2011. Because there are tons of amazing
people, that have good knowledge about mozilla.

I like apple, i start to use apple products from last year. And what
makes me love it, (one from many reasons) is that because i watch and
learn the "apple keynote". What i mean is that watching streaming
video, can give same impact as i was there watching the keynote.

So i start to think, maybe we can create something about this, to make
things easier..

I came to blog.webfwd.org/post/13551125129/whats-an-app-anyway and see
that the talks and sharing is simplified. It's important to be able to
give choices for people that have bad bandwith for internet. So that
presentation video, i think because it's just sharing slides on video,
and the presentation is on audio, so it makes the file size efficient.
But it's great. That is an example...

So is it a good idea if we create a website that sharing "podcast" to
share all about mozilla, and things about open web, and all things
related?

Maybe this stuffs is already exist? But maybe we can gather it all in
a site that is easy to browse around. If it's already exist? please
let me know...

Thanks all...

How do I change my settings on this list so I only get daily digests?

So - this idea has come up once or twice recently within the IT team..
Would an IT-centric podcast hosted by Mozilla sysadmins (and community)
be of enough interest to do? At this point I'm scared it would be a
weekly half-hour of us ranting on this last month of outages and
problems we've had - yet maybe through all of that there would be some
bit of useful information to pass on to a listener.

I'm all for it if there is an audience for it.

I'll also note that what you've mentioned falls in line with our future
plans for Air Mozilla, but more as a collection of brownbags than a
typical "podcast" in the talk-show sense of the term. See this url if
you are interested in it: https://wiki.mozilla.org/IT/AirMozilla

Loosely related, one of our DBAs is cohost of a weekly MySQL podcast,
called OurSQL: http://www.oursql.com/

Cheers,
-Corey

True.. I could go both ways. You cover a lot more ground talking in 30
mins than you do typing, and the blog posts seem to need to be so
formal, whereas I can imagine a certain "personal nature" in a podcast
(or at least many of the podcasts I listen to regularly).
