I was informed by AOL that I had to make adjustments to my computer in
order to access my mail. I use SeaMonkey, Thunderbird, and AOL software
for accessing my incoming and outgoing mail. Well, my son-in-law worked
on my computer and I can now access my mail from AOL software and
Thunderbird software. I know that should be enough accesses BUT.....I
originally started using Netscape years ago and was using SeaMonkey for
my Browser and for my mail when AOL advised that changes had to be made
to my system (I think to my account set-up). Well, both my wife and I
like using SeaMonkey and would like to make it work as it was before AOL
came out with their message.

As you can see, I am limited in my technical skills.

Now, for my problem. I removed my old account from SeaMonkey (after
documenting all of the settings in that account).

Next, I established a new account on SeaMonkey. I used the settings my
son-in-law used, plus those that resided in the original SeaMonkey
account to create a new account. I thought I had everything set up
properly, so I decided to check my mail. This mail attempt was not
successful,,,resulting in my receiving the following message:

Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the
maximum number of connections to the server. If so, use the Advanced
IMAP server Settings dialog to reduce the number of cached connections.
OK
I have attempted to resolve my problem thru research on the internet
with no success. I need help with with resolving this problem, if one
is available.

Thanks in advance for any help sent my way regarding this problem.

Frog, as you may have noticed, there's not much action here, now-a-days.
Most of the current action, what there is, is occurring in the UseNet
group alt.comp.software.seamonkey

Last I knew, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey settings are fairly similar ....
except, I think SeaMonkey's Edit->Preferences are, in Thunderbird, under
Options->Preferences.

You may also want to have a look at Edit->Mail & Newsgroup Account
Settings in SM. What the equivalent in TB is .... maybe Options->Mail &
Newsgroup Account Settings.

If you have further questions, try the UseNet group
alt.comp.software.seamonkey
