"as reprehensible as the actions of Donald Trump are"

If calling for peaceful political protest is reprehensible then democracy is dead.

"reinforce white supremacy is about more than any one personality. Donald Trump is certainly not the first politician to exploit the architecture of the internet in this way"

White supremacy is a tired and boring old lie.

White supremacists do not create:

Opportunity Zones
First Step Act
Guaranteed HBCU funding
Platinum Plan

They do not host multiple roundtable meetings with representatives of black communities, starting in the first month of their first term.

They do not grant Presidential pardons to black people.

They do not have decades long friendships with black people.

The most *reprehensible* thing about the accusation of white supremacy and the support of censorship is that it attempts to discredit and silence the voices of millions and millions of black, Hispanic, Native and Asian Americans who supported Donald J Trump, in record numbers for a Republican President, and in greater numbers than 2016.

I cannot in good conscience support an organization led by a CEO who opposes free political speech and assembly, who undermines the egalitarian principles of the internet, and who uses the organization to spread tired old lies to justify censorship.

I will never use Mozilla products again nor donate to the Foundation.

I will leave you with a sad reminder of the stated aims of the Foundation:

"The Mozilla Foundation works to ensure the internet remains a public resource that is open and accessible to us all."

For my own personal sanity, I often filter most political news. Having just found out about this pathetic stance switch by Mozilla, I too am done with them. As an IT guy who for years, recommended and often installed and configured this browser and its extensions on machines I maintained for both personal users and businesses. I now have a new agenda. I'll gladly begin a purge in my area. The job-queue has a new ongoing project... *sigh what a shame.
