Hi everyone, sending a quick recap of how the MDN wiki performed in 2014. The
big news: We had an amazing year!
The MDN wiki grew substantially in 2014, with close to a 25% increase in
overall users and 40+% increase in overall page traffic. Contribution also
saw some pretty extraordinary growth: 50% more editors and a 90% increase
in translation edits.
Much of the editor growth came through outreach to contributors and users,
in the form of improved contribution guides, priority lists of
documentation (doc and localization status pages), welcome emails, and
increased traffic driving increased contribution (and of course, more
editors means more content, which brings more users). The MDN dev team also
did a huge amount of work to stabilize and improve the wiki platform.
The effectiveness of outreach to localization communities and contributors
shows in the results. We are planning to continue that outreach and
increase support and outreach to English-language contributors in 2015. For
more about our 2015 plans, see the MDN wiki page

It was a very, very successful year, and I want to thank all of our
contributors (which include not only writers, but also the MDN dev team and
everyone else involved in the MDN) for doing an amazing job!
