The way this was discussed in the Grow Mozilla meeting was not for
gamification, but rather for metrics. That is, "conversion points" are
not part of a point system, but rather points in time or activity that
you can say that a contributor is becoming more engaged. Or points where
people tend to get blocked and not become more engaged. We can try to
measure how many people reach each milestone, and use that information
improve our community processes to make them easier.
So, please step back reframe before diving too far down the gamification
rabbit hole. It's possible that there can be a connection, but let's
make sure that what we define make sense from the engagement perspective
before trying to gamify it.
