Hello,
My name is Emmanuel Gatwech, I have a background in Computer Science and
I'm currently studying front-end development at *OpenClassrooms*, an online
learning platform.
I am really interested in contributing to *Mozilla* but I'm not sure how to
get started.
I don't have any projects in mind so I need assistance in deciding which
projects to contribute to. I'm comfortable with learning new technologies.
I have a good understanding of how the web works and its various
technologies.
I am interested in the following topics
- *Synchronisation*
- *Browser extensions*
- *Developing user interfaces*
Summary of my current skills
- *JavaScript*: I'm most comfortable coding in this language, I have a
very good understanding of its features and echo-system, experienced with
various frameworks and runtimes such as *React.js, Node.js* and *Angular*.
I can pretty much write any program in this language.
- *Python*: I'm very comfortable with most language features and I've
experimented with a few frameworks such as* Django* and *flask*.
- *C++*: I know most language features but never went beyond console
applications.
- *Restful APIs*
- *Software architecture*
- *HTML/CSS:* good understanding of different layout techniques,
responsive design and I have recently started to learn about accessibility
on the web.
Things that I'm currently trying to learn
- *Cloud Computing,*
- *Distributed systems,*
- *GraphQL,*
- *Increasing my web development skills.*
Hope I'd become a great addition to the Mozilla family.
Regards,
Emmanuel
