There is no work on this yet. Mostly because we have to get a consensus
that this is needed (Chris and Jonas seem to think it is not while I
think it is). As soon as we get an agreement, designing the API
shouldn't be hard I believe.

fwiw, I don't like this approach. It is really hard to maintain the device descriptions. As a 3rd party browser, it might also be hard to exactly determine what sort of device you are running on (at least it was with Win CE).

I think attribute testing and gracefully falling back is the right path. Does this not work for your use case Ragavan?
