Hello All,

WebRender V1 Project status update posted for Friday October 19th.

Project Status - Challenged

  • - DECISION MADE: WebRender v1 will ride the trains to Beta Fx64 enabled by default!
  • - DECISION MADE; Release Forecast pushed to Fx67 due to remaining blockers bugs, meeting our Release Criteria, and verifying impact in the field.
  • - Engineering reports high number (136) bugs blocking our ability to ride the trains to release. This is placing out ability to ride the trains with Fx67 into Release 'Challenged'
  • - Release Criteria revisions have been completed.

Why are we Challenged?
There are a high number (136)  bugs blocking release and limited visibility of h/w in field .

Mitigation plan
- Increased headcount and adjust Forecast to Fx 67
- WR dashboard for monitoring Release Criteria progress
- Run Release experiments in Fx64, 65, and 66

Project Progress Summary
- Key milestones for Fx64: Keep P1 (Beta-blockers) bugs at 0 through Beta and run our 1-2 week experiment in Release
- Fix remaining known release blocker bugs in time for Fx65 experiments - Resolve new blockers when they surface as we roll out to more users in Beta

For more information around what is targeted in Version 1, upcoming milestones, known risks, etc. See our mana page.

Feel free to reach out directly with any questions

Cheers
Thomas
